Why do I see loading message and a logout button when I try to login to the V4S Kiosk application and does not proceed further?

The upgraded V4S Kiosk application version 2.7- 155 and above has a limitation of 50 Jobs with 2000 volunteer hours (2000 volunteer hours per day is a Salesforce standard limitation applicable for the mobile application). If the Jobs/Shifts and Volunteer Hours exceeds the limitation the login screen shows the message as loading with a Logout button and does not bring the data even after waiting on the same screen for a long time.


Please make sure that the Jobs are marked as Inactive after the Job is completed in the org. We suggest you mark the job as inactive because if the Job is not marked as Inactive then all the Jobs in your org is synced and shown on the V4S Kiosk. If there are more than 50 active Jobs on a given day, then the V4S Kiosk login takes more time to log in.


Mark the completed Jobs as "Inactive" by following the steps below

 
  • Log in to Salesforce as an Administrator
  • Go to Volunteer Jobs Tab
  • Go through the Jobs list and see the Jobs which are already completed
  • From Job details/edit screen, click the "Inactive" checkbox to mark the Job as inactive/completed (the jobs which are marked as inactive are not shown on the V4S Kiosk application)
  • Save it

A Volunteer Job marked with "Display on Website" are displayed on the V4S Kiosk application and on the Web pages for your org


More information to mark the Jobs with "Display on Website" is given below
  • Log in to Salesforce as an Administrator
  • Go to Volunteer Jobs Tab
  • Go through the Jobs list and from Job edit screen mark the Job as "Display on Website" checkbox
  • Save it.

You can also mark the Jobs to be displayed only on the V4S Kiosk application. The Jobs marked with "Display on Kiosk" application will not be displayed on the web pages.


More information to mark the Jobs with "Display on Kiosk" is given below
 
  • Log in to Salesforce as Administrator
  • Click on the Setup button
  • Click on Object Manager
  • Search for Volunteer Jobs Tab and click it
  • Click Fields and Relationship from the related list
  • Click the New button to add a custom field
  • Create a Checkbox field as "Display on Kiosk" and add this field to Volunteer Job screen in Salesforce
  • On the Volunteer Jobs list, Check the Check-Box "Display on Kiosk" and uncheck "Display on Website" for the Jobs which should be displayed only on V4S Kiosk application and not on the web pages
  • Then add the Display on Kiosk field to the V4S Mobile configuration to view the Jobs which are marked as "Display on Kiosk". Click here to know more about adding the filters for Jobs and Shifts screen.

After marking the Jobs as Inactive, Display on Website, and Display on Kiosk, only the Jobs with the Status Active and Display on Website and Display on Website are shown/displayed on the V4S Kiosk application.


We have added the limitation of 50 Jobs per day is because this is the limitation set in Salesforce for showing the Jobs and related Shifts. And by adding the correct filters for Jobs the login time consumed is reduced on the V4S Kiosk application.
